My daughter's civil wedding was just as important as to having a wedding at a church or other venue. I took it upon myself to create something unique for her to have and to hold, personalized with my own aesthetic. First I used a 1 1/2 inch ivory satin ribbon to drape the Good Wish Umbrella® matching her dress palette. Then I made eight fanciful bows and wrapped the bow-knot with a pearlescent trim, pairing a vintage-inspired contrast to later be placed around the umbrella scalloped edges. Using the same ribbon throughout, I formed rosebuds then added floral sprays (an easy DIY technique) with craft wire, three pearls to each spray and intertwined together. Also, tulle was ruche in between rosettes to accentuate her new favored possession. The handle was seamlessly adorned with the same trim to carry out the cohesiveness design. I adhered each rosette and bow into place until I was satisfied with the creation. She now has a nostalgic piece of her wedding day preserved in a protective keepsake box; a forever time capsule and someday she will have a glimpse of the past, a reminder of how much she is cherished and of a very important day of her life. One may wonder; she might want to display it, as a conversational timepiece on their silver or golden wedding anniversary milestone.
